Civic Engagement for Sustainability
As a future engineer, I have to learn to meet all the challenges that tomorrow's world brings. To do that, I have to get involved in all aspects of society. Civic engagement is about involvement, but it's also about how you perceive the society around you.
Sulitest Results
The Sustainability Literacy Test, or Sulitest, is an association set up in 2014 that offers a standardised certification aimed at raising awareness and assessing knowledge in the field of sustainable development. Here are my results for this test, compared with the average results for the world and other students at my school.
Les Restos du Cœur
Les Restos du Cœur is a French charity, the main activity of which is to distribute food packages and hot meals to those in need. The association targets homeless and those with a low or very low income (single families, old people with a low pension, young adults...).
As part of the Winter 2024 season, I volunteered at the Saint-Orens-de-Gameville centre, helping to distribute food and basic necessities to low-income students. As a student myself, student insecurity is a subject that attracts a lot of my attention. For me, volunteering is a way of helping without having the financial means to do so.
Semester of study in Croatia
Openness to the world is a crucial soft skill for an engineer. Teamwork is based on communication, and communication is based on openness to others.
As part of the European ERASMUS programme, I spent a semester at the Faculty of Electronics and Computer Science in Zagreb, FER.
